Adrian Charter Township, Michigan

Lenawee County was initially divided into three townships by act of the Michigan Territorial Council on April 12, 1827.

Tecumseh Township spanned the northern portion of the county, Logan Township spanned the middle tier, and Blissfield Township spanned the southern tier (and also included an area in the Toledo Strip which ultimately became part of Ohio).

[8] As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 5,749 people, 2,147 households, and 1,711 families residing in the township.

16.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

The majority of the township is served by Adrian Public Schools to the south in the city of Adrian, while portions of the western part of the township are served by Onsted Community Schools to the northwest in the village of Onsted.
