Bronson is a city in Branch County in the U.S. state of Michigan.
When the village was started it was first named York, but was renamed to Bronson by the Michigan legislature in 1837.
This charter established the Council-Manager form of government under which Bronson still operates.
Alicia Cole became mayor in January 2014 following the death of Tom Rissman, who had held the position since 2003.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.37 square miles (3.55 km2), all land.
