Girard Township, Michigan

An area on the east side of Morrison Lake in the Coldwater River is considered to be part of the Coldwater urban area, although it remains unincorporated.

[6] As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,916 people, 705 households, and 528 families residing in the township.

There were 851 housing units at an average density of 24.1 per square mile (9.3/km2).

There were 705 households, out of which 27.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.1% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families.

21.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
