Dessau is an unincorporated community in Travis County, in the U.S. state of Texas.

[1] It is located within the Greater Austin metropolitan area.

There was a post office there from 1886 to 1890 and from 1897 to 1901, when service was halted and mail was diverted to Austin.

By the early 1930s, it had decreased to 10, but by the late 1940s, it had increased to 50, where it remained until the middle of the 1960s, when population numbers were not available.

Dessau is located 11 mi (18 km) northeast of Austin and 2 mi (3.2 km) southwest of Pflugerville in northeastern Travis County.
