She is a member of the Hellenic Parliament since July 2019 and a leading figure of the New Left since December 2023.

Following the decision of Alexis Tsipras to step down as party leader, she announced on 12 July 2023 that she would run for the office of the President of SYRIZA.
During her election campaign in 2019, she revealed that she was in a relationship with then Minister of State Dimitris Tzanakopoulos.
