Fournou Korifi is the archaeological site of a Minoan settlement on southern Crete.
Fournou Korifi was built at the top of a steep hill, with excellent views of the coast.
Several theories on the interpretation of the 100-room site are available from Peter Warren, Branigan and Todd Whitelaw.
"All of the rooms and areas are spread over the summit and upper slopes of a steep-sided hill overlooking the [Libyan] sea.
"Based on an assessment of the effect of the erosion says that most of the site should be ameable to detailed analysis.
