Frank Patrick O'Connor (April 9, 1885 – August 21, 1939) was a Canadian politician, businessman and philanthropist.
He quit school at the age of 14 and started working at Canadian General Electric in Peterborough.
Around 1910 he opened The Canadian Chicle Co. at 283 George Street (North) in downtown Peterborough,[1] which sold candy and a form of Chiclets under the product name "Elizabeth's Best".
[4] In 1935, he was appointed to the Senate of Canada by Liberal Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King.
[4] A Roman Catholic, O'Connor gave $500,000 in the 1930s to the Archdiocese of Toronto under the trusteeship of Cardinal James Charles McGuigan, one of numerous bequests to causes and organizations in his faith.
