Gay, Orenburg Oblast

Gay, or Gai (Russian: Гай, IPA: [ɡaj]) is a town in Orenburg Oblast, Russia, located 230 kilometers (140 mi) east of Orenburg, the administrative center of the oblast.

[citation needed] Within the framework of administrative divisions, Gay serves as the administrative center of Gaysky District,[4] even though it is not a part of it.

[5] As an administrative division, it is, together with one rural locality (the settlement of Kalinovka), incorporated separately as the Town of Gay[1]—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.
