Hawkins Mountain is a 7,160+ ft (2,180+ m) double-summit massif located in Kittitas County of Washington state.

[1] Hawkins is situated three miles southwest of Ingalls Peak, and 1.7 mi (2.7 km) northwest of Esmeralda Peaks, on land managed by Wenatchee National Forest.

Most weather fronts originating in the Pacific Ocean travel east toward the Cascade Mountains.

As fronts approach, they are forced upward by the peaks of the Cascade Range, causing them to drop their moisture in the form of rain or snow onto the Cascades (Orographic lift).

During winter months, weather is usually cloudy, but due to high pressure systems over the Pacific Ocean that intensify during summer months, there is often little or no cloud cover during the summer.
