The Henry Wallace House is an historic building located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States.
Wallace was asked to serve as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, but he deferred to his friend James "Tama Jim" Wilson.
In the 70's it was purchased by Guy L. Roberts, Jr. who began to restore and return the home to a single family building.
The Wallace's altered the third floor around 1895 adding two bedrooms and a hybrid mansard/hip roof and dormer windows.
[3] The Wallace family donated period furniture and historic mementoes to be displayed in the house.
