John Patton (January 6, 1823 – December 23, 1897) was a U.S. Representative from the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
Senator from Michigan (1894–1895), and the uncle of William Irvin Swoope, also a U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania (1923–1927).
He attended the public schools and engaged in mercantile pursuits and lumbering 1844-1860.
He organized the First National Bank of Curwensville in 1864 and was elected its president.
Patton died in Philadelphia, aged 74, where he had gone for medical treatment, and was interred in Oak Hill Cemetery, in Curwensville, Pennsylvania.
