Landrum, Texas

It is located within the Rio Grande Valley and the Brownsville-Harlingen metropolitan area.

Landrum was established when the San Benito and Rio Grande Valley Railway built a station here in 1913.

A post office was established at Landrum in the early 1900s and was named for a local storeowner.

[2] Landrum is located near the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and Farm to Market Road 2520, 8 miles (13 km) south of Harlingen in southwestern Cameron County.

[2] Today, the community is served by the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District.
