[4] The post of Russian Ambassador to Albania is currently held by Mikhail Afanasyev [ru], incumbent since 16 September 2019.
[5] Attempts to establish diplomatic relations at the mission level between the Soviet Union and Albania began after the June Revolution in 1924 under the auspices of the Soviet ambassador to Greece Arkady Krakovetsky [ru].
