Louriston Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota

Louriston Township was organized in 1877, and named for Laura Armstrong, the daughter of an early settler.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 211 people, 68 households, and 59 families residing in the township.

There were 71 housing units at an average density of 2.0 per square mile (0.77/km2).

8.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 7.1% of families and 10.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 15.6% of those under the age of eighteen and 6.7% of those 65 or over.
