Originally settled by a colony of Irish Catholics, Marysland Township was organized in 1879.
[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.3 square miles (91.4 km2), all land.
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 102 people, 43 households, and 27 families residing in the township.
32.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
There were 8.7% of families and 13.3% of the population living below the poverty line, including 14.8% of under eighteens and 15.4% of those over 64.
