Torning Township, Swift County, Minnesota

Torning Township was organized in 1879, and probably named after a place in Denmark.

[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 34.0 square miles (88.1 km2), all land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 505 people, 169 households, and 139 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 99.01% White, 0.20% African American, and 0.79% from two or more races.

13.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
