National Hotel (St. Louis, Missouri)

The hotel was included in the federal Historic American Buildings Survey, but this did not prevent it from being demolished in 1948.

[1] Notable guests at this hotel included Abraham Lincoln, Daniel Webster,[2] and Jefferson Davis.

[3] The first public transit omnibus line for St. Louis was established in 1843.

It ran from the old National Hotel to the North St. Louis ferry landing at Madison Street.
