Oxalate decarboxylase

This enzyme belongs to the family of lyases, specifically the carboxy-lyases, which cleave carbon-carbon bonds.

The systematic name of this enzyme class is oxalate carboxy-lyase (formate-forming).

This enzyme participates in glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism.

As of late 2007, 5 structures have been solved for this class of enzymes, with PDB accession codes 1UW8, 2UY8, 2UY9, 2UYA, and 2UYB.
