Palmitas is a village in the Soriano Department of western Uruguay.
The village is located 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) east of the intersection of Route 2 with Route 105, about 36 kilometres (22 mi) southeast of the department capital city Mercedes.
The railroad track Montevideo - Mercedes pass through this town.
Its status was elevated to "Pueblo" (village) on 6 November 1953 by the Act of Ley Nº 12.021.
