Pratval is a former municipality in the district of Hinterrhein in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.

Of the rest of the land, 17.5% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (1.3%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).

It consists of the settlements of Gross- and Kleinrietberg, Rietbach, Mühle and Hof.

[4] The age distribution, as of 2000[update], in Pratval is; 41 people or 17.1% of the population are between 0 and 9 years old.

[5] In the 2007 federal election the most popular party was the SPS which received 41.9% of the vote.
