Pucaraju (Ticapampa)

Pucaraju[1][2] (possibly from Quechua puka red,[3] rahu snow, ice, mountain with snow,[4] "red snow-covered mountain") is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,346 metres (17,539 ft) high[1] or 5,322 metres (17,461 ft) high[2] depending on the source.

It is situated in the Ancash Region, Recuay Province, Ticapampa District.

[5] Pucaraju lies west of Yanamarey and northeast of Lake Querococha.

[2] The IGN-Peru map, cites the main peak as Tunsho, while applying the name Pucarajo to the southern slopes.
