[4] Rockdale Township is located in the Glaciated Plateau of Northwest Pennsylvania.

The lowest elevation, 1,130 ft (340 m), is located where French Creek flows out of the township, while the highest elevation, 1,650 ft (500 m), is located on a high point next to Gorman Road northwest of Sturgis Corners and on Brown Hill.

Spring Lake is located in the southeast corner of the township.

18.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
