[2] As a writer, Allie wrote the four-issue miniseries The Devil's Footprints inspired by a local legend from his hometown Ipswich, Massachusetts in 2003.

In 2008, he started writing the miniseries Solomon Kane,[4] the first two-story arcs of which were expansions of the Robert E. Howard stories "The Castle of the Devil" and "Death's Black Riders.
