[2] Big Spring State Forest Picnic Area is on the western end of Toboyne Township near Conococheague Mountain.

As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 494 people, 195 households, and 140 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 99.19% White, 0.20% Native American, and 0.61% from two or more races.

24.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
