Velké Janovice is a municipality and village in Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic.
Velké Janovice is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) east of Žďár nad Sázavou and 49 km (30 mi) northwest of Brno.
At the end of the 15th century, the village was acquired by the Pernštejn family.
From 1588 until the establishment of a sovereign municipality, Velké Janovice belonged to the Bystřice estate.
