Yanaoca District is one of eight districts in the Canas Province in Peru.
One of the highest peaks of the district is Yawri Kunka at approximately 4,400 m (14,400 ft).

Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (88.77%) learnt to speak in childhood, 10.90% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).
