Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Brian Frosh was eligible to seek a third term in office, but announced that he would retire at the end of his term in early 2023.
[1] U.S. Representative, former Lieutenant Governor, and 2014 gubernatorial nominee Anthony Brown won the Democratic nomination, while Neo-Confederate former Anne Arundel County councilman and 2004 Constitution Party Presidential nominee Michael Peroutka won the Republican nomination.
As was expected, Brown won the general election by a wide margin.
