Pennsylvania's legislature enacted new district maps in January 2022, which were promptly vetoed by Governor Tom Wolf.

Democrat Chrissy Houlahan, who had represented the district since 2019, was most recently re-elected in 2022 garnering 58.3% of the vote in the general election.
