John A. Moon

John Austin Moon (April 22, 1855 – June 26, 1921) was an American politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives for the 3rd congressional district of Tennessee.

[1] He attended public and private schools and King College in Bristol, Tennessee.

[1] He studied law, was admitted to the Alabama bar, at the age of nineteen.

Commissioned in May 1889 as a special circuit judge, and twice reappointed, he held the office until January 3, 1891.

Moon was renominated for Congress in 1921, but before election, he became ill and died in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 26, 1921 (age 66 years, 65 days).
