It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Bern–Lucerne line of Swiss Federal Railways.

Until the December 2023 timetable change, the station was named Littau.

Two new side platforms will built at a height of 55 centimetres (22 in) and at a length of 220 metres (720 ft) to permit barrier-free boarding.

A ticket machine, station lighting and loud speakers will be installed on the new platforms.
