In 2015, Natividad was formally designated as a level II trauma center,[3] providing the immediate availability of specialized personnel, equipment, and services to treat the most severe and critical injuries.

Natividad is the only teaching hospital on the Central Coast through its affiliation with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Natividad is fully accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a comprehensive bariatric surgery center.
