Serravalle Scrivia is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region of Piedmont, located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of Turin and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Alessandria.

In 1745, in the course of the War of the Austrian Succession, it was briefly occupied by Franco-Spanish troops.

In 1798, after the Napoleonic invasion of Piedmont, it was annexed to the Ligurian Republic; the French, who had conquered Serravalle after the Battle of Marengo, had its castle destroyed.

In 1935 the Autostrada A7 (Genoa-Serravalle) was inaugurated, this became the fastest connection from Turin and Milan to the sea.

In geology, the Serravallian Age of the Miocene Epoch is named for Serravalle Scrivia.
