Camino is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) east of Turin and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Alessandria.
As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 763 and an area of 18.4 square kilometres (7.1 sq mi).
[3] Camino borders the following municipalities: Gabiano, Mombello Monferrato, Morano sul Po, Palazzolo Vercellese, Pontestura, Solonghello, and Trino.
The Castello di Camino dates from the 11th century and has one of the highest medieval towers in the Monferrato area.
The castle belonged to the Bishop of Asti up until the 13th century and was later administered by the Marquis of Montferrat.
