Higashimatsuyama, Saitama

Saitama Prefecture Higashimatsuyama has a Humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) characterized by warm summers and cool winters with light to no snowfall.

[3] Per Japanese census data,[4] the population of Higashimatsuyama has recently plateaued after a long period of growth.

Matsuyama merged with the villages of Ooka, Karako, Takasaka and Nomoto on July 1, 1954, and was elevated to city status as Higashimatsuyama.

[5] Higashimatsuyama has a mayor-council form of government with a directly elected mayor and a unicameral city council of 21 members.

In terms of national politics, the city is part of Saitama 11th district of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.
