Jumbo Peak (Washington)

Jumbo Peak is a 5,801 ft (1,770 m) volcanic mountain summit located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, in Skamania County of Washington state.

The history of the formation of the Cascade Mountains dates back millions of years ago to the late Eocene Epoch.

[4] Mount Adams, a stratovolcano that is 15 mi (24 km) southeast of Jumbo Peak, began forming in the Pleistocene.

Jumbo Peak is composed of Pliocene-Miocene andesitic magma that intruded up into older volcanic rocks more than five million years ago and is now surrounded by a forest of old-growth Douglas fir and mountain hemlock.

Jumbo Peak is located in the marine west coast climate zone of western North America.
