Madison Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania

[3] The eastern boundary of the township is formed by Little Fishing Creek, which flows south towards Fishing Creek and the Susquehanna River.

The west-center part of the township is in a valley which drains westward to Chillisquaque Creek, a tributary of the West Branch Susquehanna River.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 1,590 people, 591 households, and 484 families residing in the township.

There were 591 households, out of which 28.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.3% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.1% were non-families.

14.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
