Ashleigh Barty defeated Karolína Plíšková in the final, 6–3, 6–7(4–7), 6–3 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
Barty's victory made her the fourth player (following Ann Jones, Martina Hingis and Amélie Mauresmo) to win the women's singles title after previously winning the girls' singles title.
[4][5] Serena Williams retired from her first-round match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich due to injury.
[6] This marked the first time since 2014 that the Wimbledon final did not feature one of the Williams sisters (as Venus Williams lost to Ons Jabeur in the second round), as well as the first time since 1997 that neither sister progressed beyond the second round.
[9] Raducanu was the youngest British woman to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon in the Open Era.
