[2] The draw for the group stage was held on 25 March 2022, 12:00 PYST (UTC−3), at the CONMEBOL Convention Centre in Luque, Paraguay.
The defending champions Palmeiras were directly assigned as the top seed of Group A (position A1).
The remaining teams were distributed into four pots according to their CONMEBOL Clubs ranking.
[2] The winners and runners-up of each group advanced to the round of 16 of the final stages.
The third-placed teams of each group entered the round of 16 of the 2022 Copa Sudamericana.
