The Line 8 station started operations on 28 June 2003, and is located under Xingang East Road[1] on Pazhou Island in the Haizhu District.

There are shop windows in the concourse which focus on cultural artworks such as Cantonese carving, Canton porcelain, and Guangdong lion dancing.
The station can reach Areas B and C of the Canton Fair Complex, and this remark has been specially added in the new version of the line network map in December 2024.
